1. Our meadow from your meadows is delighted
And our Nile from your Nile is sated

2. And we'd be humiliated if you could humiliate
Every heart for you is filled

3. In spite of enmity, kinship remains
Our bond time cannot fray

4. Eyes keep vigil looking to you
Their tears for your trials won't go away

5. If you're joyous, in Palestine there is feast
Or if you're saddened, sorrows won't increase

6. They thought the canal could divide us
But faith is its bridge and tongue likewise

7. And hearts yearn for the Nile
Thirsty, fluttering without guile

8. God bless your return, would the Nile be denied?
A cup by which the thirsty are revived

9. I've come to you complaining, Egypt's nightingale
The meadow's nightingale with melody and tale

10. Poetry fluttering over you with its wing
And in your plain its nourishment wording

11. The edifice of Arabism towers in Egypt
And who but you are its pillars kept?

12. So many countries shake you, in them no
Neighbor of yours nor brethren you know

13. We proposed, my passion shakes but then
Rome came and shook the Romans

14. We proposed, Hafiz Ibrahim shakes not
But Japan shakes him a lot

15. The Bishop, O Palestine, has no affair with you
Yet Nero certainly gave him travail

16. They'll say "we sanctified this land"
As if for them in it no Satan stood

17. Nay, Palestine with devils is filled
Jinn and mankind by them bewildered

18. If you tested some of them, we have borne
Twofold in this age, shamed and worn

19. If money goes, that goes, but this
Stigma won't leave bodies, nonetheless

20. They'll say "Lord, sincere brothers you've assigned"
"Among them in Egypt cordial ties bind"

21. They've severed ties, no longer speaking
For this is the recompense of breaching

22. These are complaints that terrify me, how they came to be
May it be a lesson to them, how it used to be
