1. You have so many names, an anxious worry
And from where does the imagination strike and knock
١. سَما لَكَ مِن أَسماءَ هَمٌّ مُؤَرِّقُ
وَمِن أَينَ يَنتابُ الخَيالُ فَيَطرُقُ
2. And I imagine you in the air during a conversation
Where it meets the everlasting honeycomb
٢. وَأَرحُلُها بِالجَوِّ عِندَ حَوارَةٍ
بِحَيثُ يُلاقي الآبِداتِ العَسَلَّقِ
3. So you landed as a prophet or ashes beneath it
Grazing sheep and cows from the wilderness peeled off
٣. فَحَلَّت نَبِيّاً أَو رَمادانَ دونَها
رِعانٌ وَقيعانٌ مِنَ البيدِ سَملَقُ
4. And a wrinkled palm tree yellowed from old age
Gazes at her so it sways and is set free
٤. وَأَصفَرَ مَجدولٍ مِنَ القِدِّ مارِنٍ
يُلاثُ بِعَينَيها فَيُلوى وَيُطلَقُ
5. Next to the arms of a mare energetic and lively
She bowed slightly as the birds speak
٥. لَدى ساعِدَي مَهرِيَّةٍ شَدَنِيَّةٍ
أُنيخَت قَليلاً وَالعَصافيرُ تَنطُقُ
6. So she cooled her pace and closed her eyes briefly
And circled around him a little as he was lost in thought
٦. فَبَرَّدَ مَتنَيها وَغَمَّضَ ساعَةً
وَطافَت قَليلاً حَولَهُ وَهوَ مُطرِقُ
