1. To whom do you sell the wares of literature
And scatter the pearls of the words of Arabs
١. علَى مَن تبيعُ متاعَ الأدبْ
وتنثُرُ دُرَّ كلام العرَبْ
2. And who deserves the adornments of praise
That are forged for him like jewelry of gold
٢. ومن يستحقُّ حُلِىَّ المديح
يصاغُ له كحُلِىّ الذهبْ
