1. If I am not one who drinks wine
Yet I cure drunkenness with drunkenness

The good and evil that they do

5. As though the wine with its flagons
Were stars revolving in a sphere

6. With hands joined in fixed ranks
Like your arrangement of letters in a line

7. Its yellow ruby their radiance
Where the flower of pearl grows

8. My eye enjoys it, but never my hand
Nor the place of man, heaven forbid

9. Rather there circles about it a gazelle
Whose lids are from leaves of sorcery

10. From the twilight of darkness his cheeks
His face from the essence of the full moon

11. And the wine is pleased with nothing else as a neighbor
