1. Faults of Ibn Malik have wearied me
Of blaming him or railing bitterly.

ุงููู ูุฏ ูููุชูู
ุนููุงุกู ุงูุฐู
ูู ููู ูุงูุฃูุงุฌู
2. Nay, some have charged that he, a neighbor, dared
To flirt with women who collect the tax;
ูข. ุจูู ูุงููุง ูู ุฌุงุฑู ุฌุฑูุกู
ุนูู ููุณูุงู ุนู
ุงู ุงูุฎุฑุงุฌู
3. He seeks from them but what a rooster takes
From hensโjust eggs, and nothing else in fact.
ูฃ. ูููุณ ุจุทุงูุจู ู
ูููู ุดูุฃ
ุณูู ุทูุจ ุงูุฏููู ู
ู ุงูุฏููุฌุงุฌู
4. Below his robes a spear concealed does rest
Well skilled to thrust in any fierce attack.
ูค. ูู ุฑู
ุญู ุจุฃุณููู ุญุงูุจูููู
ูุฌูุฏ ุงูุทุนูู ูู ููู
ุงูููุงุฌู
5. And cures for him the healer Yahya sought
To heal and help what maladies he lacked,
ูฅ. ููุฏ ููููุชู ุนููู ุนูุฑุณู ูุญููู
ุนูู ูุฌู ุงูุชุฏุงูู ูุงูุนูุงุฌู
6. Since, so they say, from wetness he does suffer,
While his friend is quite blessed with moist in tact.
ูฆ. ูุฃููู ุจูุง ุนูู ู
ุง ููู ููุจูุณุง
ูุฃูู ุตุฏููููุง ุฑุทุจู ุงูู
ูุฒุงุฌู
7. So in the end our wise philosopher
By valid logic his good name extracted.
ูง. ูุญุงุฒ ุงููููููู ุฑูุญูู
ู ูููุณููู
ุจุจุฑูุงูู ุตุญูุญู ูุงุญุชุฌุงุฌู
8. Then spread no tales of him through east and west
For no newcomer leaves a hero sacked.
ูจ. ููุง ุชููุฑูุฑ ุจูุง ุดุฑูุง ูุบุฑุจุง
