1. Whoever serves the Lord faithfully
Is honored and needs no servitude to slaves

2. While the servant of the created
Either lives in humiliation or severe torment

3. He hopes and fears a human like himself
This is clear misguidance and needs no addition

4. Oh you who wander in the darkness of passion
And serve the created, what is it you seek?

5. You ask for ease from the hands of the poor
Wake up, this quest is fruitless

6. God has brought you near to your desire
Yet you call out from a distant place
