1. If my tools of competence are counted,
My only tool is my inkpot.
١. إذا أُحصيتُ أدواتُ الكفاةِ
فليسَ أَداتي إلاَّ دَواتي
2. And that is only because with it,
I treat my virtues and cure my faults.
٢. وما ذاكَ إلاّ لأني بها
أُداوي عُفاتي وأَدْوي عُداتي
