1. A specter of melancholy did glide,
Extinguishing the glow of joy inside.

2. The sweetness of union tasted we never,
Except mid reproach playful and blame ever.

From joining the heat of love and cool disdain.

11. She drags her train, then halts in gentle sway
Like passing clouds in tranquil disarray.

12. The sand parts for her like a serpent slick
That left its trail imprinted in the sands quick.

13. When the horses’ heads are raised for venture free,
Their tails are raised, obedient instantly.

14. Bearing gifts to the prince, flasks finely wrought
With praises fit for one so knowledge-taught.

15. A blossom nourished gently by the breeze,
Quintessence of the freshest sciences.

16. She’s like a supple branch, deftly entwining
The north wind's keenness with commune refining.

17. A subtlety atop her hips evinces
Sagacity exceeding all the Bedouins’.

18. Seeking Abu Mufaddal persistently,
With the strongest cords of motivation pulled she.

19. His affection she sought, her worries to unwind,
While many suitors she declined.

20. A king whose spear, when polished bright does flare,
Like a shooting star it cuts the air.

21. His tent stands where forbearance lies, so wise,
Yet his voice in the prime of youth defies.

22. He dwells in meadows where the virtuous feed,
And from him drink in meadows that succeed.

23. A moon born of nightly moons so fair,
A lion spawned by lions without lair.

24. He brought steeds that set the valley floor aflame
When their hooves would strike, igniting spark and flame.

25. With standards like the sun obscured mid-track
When the dawn winds whipped its hemline back.

26. When the winds caress, his banners unfold,
Revealing fabric with saffron gold.

27. In death's abode souls are appraised in full,
During his fainting, what appraisal or rule?

28. When o’er Iraq the moon began its climb,
In a night of doubtful, unstable time,

29. It folded the land in a reddish light,
The horizon consumed in darkness of night.

30. The Family of Hamdan, bounty’s peak,
And essence pure of the loftiest elite.

31. The East shone bright with their light, while the West
Was not left devoid of their glow, attest.

32. They dwelt in a home called “Graceful Benevolence,”
A haunt for students and civic cadence.

33. The peace unveils itself on courtyards serene,
And war on ravenous lions, it would seem.

34. From them poured rainclouds of generosity,
Stirred by those winds of capability.

35. We carried quivers filled with showers of praise
That will remain through history’s days.

36. On chargers we embarked that plunge and toss
Like eagles swirling through mirage’s dross.

37. But the North wind did their union divide,
To stray like strangers, anguished they did bide.
