1. Ask the salty one, how he saw my eagles
And how, though he refused to see right,

2. Al-Raqani Al-Hashimi softened me, so ask him to lighten me
And sheathe for him my representative and my crookedness

3. And he said, brother of affection and congruity
And aid of my youthful brother, and congruity

4. A sheikh of good morals, so he became
Dearer to the youth than the youth

5. He has a house, if you seek refuge in it
You take refuge, so the hand of seekers won't reach you

6. We knocked and the lantern of Pleiades
Alights, though the knight of darkness is denying

7. So he welcomed and cajoled and said, "Your mounts
Have settled in spacious courtyards"

8. And he urged the penitents
With refined, gently-chiding words

9. And said, "Approach the doors from them
For each came from the direction of a door"

10. So this one said, "Basil and mint"
And ice like the shimmering of a mirage

11. And that one said, "A pot of food"
And this one said, "A barrel of drink"

12. And the generosity of people is from the generosity
Of his hands with the soft cheek of an untouched maiden

13. So with that he made for them a day of joy
Of wondrous beauty and sweetly agreeable

14. When the heavy burden is distributed
Among the people's necks, it lightens upon the necks
