1. O absent of sublime traits though present,
He departed this world while joined to it.

2. Settling though the journey of misery moved him,
So he remained established on the trunk's fleece mounted.

3. O Abu al-Fadl, calamities befell you, yet
The virtuous is not devoid of misfortunes.

4. You became stripped of your shirt though you have
Long borne over the iron shirt burdens.

5. Around you are Wail's youths,
If people of merit are counted they are the first.

6. The time's suspicion afflicted them, though
It only afflicted a sublime summit and shoulder.

7. As if they were, in the night, a group lost
Finding the path's inextricable twists.

8. The heat of departure met them with kindness
Making departure's times seem twined.

9. And the living became, not in its time,
Spray over those bodies and rained.

10. As if the sky cried for their affliction
So it did not restrain the shedding tears.
