1. The Knight faces adversities with valor,
His seekers hunt the most vicious prey,

2. Time passes with ups and downs,
Bringing mornings and evenings in disarray.

3. A conqueror granted spoils and treasures,
Triumphing over the proud knights of Persia,

4. He slew the envoys of Tubba,
Subjugating the free Arabs under duress.

5. He attacked them baring his fangs,
And so their fortune met distress,

6. He dethroned the Kings of Kindah
Severing their lineage and kinship ties.

7. He continued to deceive and betray them,
Stabbing with his poisoned daggers, so adept.

8. He snatched their gilded crowns,
Or their fiery torches in one deft swoop.

9. He also extinguished the flame,
Of Abraha and his war elephants' steps,

10. After traversing the deserts in anger
With a gloomy and raging aspect.

11. His days varied,
Some prosperous, some fraught with mishaps.

12. And he reached the tyrant of factions,
Sitting between the two disputing clans.

13. At times shaded by his sword,
At others by his coat of mail,

14. On Thursdays appearing before him,
Imaginations and doubts amass.

15. While people are the objects of his greed,
He shoots arrows or holds them back.

16. The shining palaces,
Cast at them swarms of locusts circling.

17. I belong to a tribe,
Who perfected the traits of glory.

18. A shepherd who leads his flock
Beneath his banner's shade and care.

19. A stalwart who, when tested for valor,
Outshines even the scales of measure.

20. The pearls' adornments are gifted to him
Encased in oyster shells, delicate and fine.

21. Their glory cannot be attained,
Not even touched by the brilliant Capella.

22. The tales of epics sought them out
Between the intrepid and the valiant souls.

23. The gazes of the virtuous inclined towards them
With steadfast and earnest miens.

24. The remaining pillars of honor and nobility
Were awakened by their unwavering resolve.

25. They were aggrieved by the loss of Ahmed,
The ornamented horn of the age was severed.

26. The resting place of the brave steeds and the spears
And the arenas of skillful horsemanship now empty.

27. I see the pasture in mourning, parched and dry,
Green no more since he passed away.

28. The brightened morn turned pitch black,
Once illuminating even the lanterns.

29. The courtyard now drags its train
Weighted by the falling stars of misfortune.

30. I pictured it clad in luxurious garb
Rustling with the swaying trellises’ breeze.

31. In the garden, the smooth pebbles
Were like pearls in their elegance and sheen.

32. As though strings of luminous pearls
Adorned it like a bride's necklace.

33. As if the plush meadows wore
Cloaks of brocade and damask cloth.

34. As though the gardens' fragrances
Toyed with the pine groves' scented airs.

35. As if the loss clouded even
The radiant day in perpetual gloom.

36. O son of glory, sorrows charged at you
With pounding anxieties and distress.

37. Till your ashes return renewed
In verdant attire, youthful in their tender green.

38. If you left the loved ones for an abode
Unlike your familiar comforting home,

39. Still, Time does not fail to restore
The gallops of its eager steeds.

40. Have you not seen the world,
Continuously renewed like the rising phoenix?
