خضراءُ يُخْفي جمالَها الحُجُبُ

كما تكونُ الجروحُ والنَّدَبُ

She is bruised, while embers burn
٣. كأنَّها من جَفاءِ لِبسْتَها
مَقرورةٌ والهجيرُ يَلتهبُ
4. As though when she sends forth water
It's the melting of ingots, golden its flow
٤. كأنَّما الماءُ حينَ تَبْعَثُهُ
ذَوْبُ لُجَينٍ مِيزابُه ذَهَبُ
