Strutting, true in her affections

2. Like a tattooed beauty who wept
Until her wrists bent, unemployed

3. A shy one who her lightning is thought
To be a lamp, bundled, carrying burdens

4. She meets burdens from her loftiness
Like the lights of the loaded camels

5. So the south wind wraps her
Like armies wrap each other in mantles

6. And thunder husks her with tongues
Like the tongues of singing maidens

7. And it hastens her like the hastening
Of the guide to the resting camels

8. And lightning flashes between them
Like the flashing of waving flags

9. Until when the horizons gathered around her
Laughing with joyous expressions

10. Her daisies flew above
The traces of her swooning tears

11. So the air from her is in flames
And the earth from her is in rivers

12. And the light in two necklaces resembling
Pendants of dew and rain

13. Different wreaths meet you
Among the harmonious bracelets

14. Charms like the edges of mirrors
And bracelets and anklets

15. Between the melodies of doves
And between the melodies of streams

16. It was shaded by the generosity
Of the noble, not that of the burdens

17. Delight like a branch bent
Between branches with fruits

18. Fingers smoothed with musk
Curled like chains

19. A skilled one in Babylon's sorcery
Comes to me with Babylonian wine

20. Golden that you'd think
It glistens from the radiant sun

21. It struck the progeny of its generosity
With the progeny of heavy rain

22. As if it is the melted hail
Mixed with the melted afflictions

23. And as if its poured cups
Are my gratitude to Ahmed in gatherings

24. A king whose people are, for his
Kindness, the least difficult

25. Reddening the days of turmoil
Whitening the days of virtues

26. He brings to life by the beauty of his deeds
The scintillating deeds of his ancestors

27. Like a rose, it withered but its water
Is the lingering fragrance, not fleeting

28. He sent the dew in hearts questioning
Every asker

29. And made famous the obscure place
The famous place of virtues

30. Like the full moon nearing its completion
It illuminated the lofty mansions

31. He struts in the shade of the sublime
And relaxes in the shade of streams

32. A quality among the noble Azd
With clear signs

33. And late ones who testified to
The virtues of early ancestors

34. And a hand striking like lightning
Whose register strikes the registers of swords

35. And a sharpened sword blunting
Every affliction when brandished

36. So it's as if your approach, when it
Shone in battle, was its watering

37. O best of hopes the stirrups of the hopeful
Are tied to your heel

38. You passed the month of fasting accepting
Obligations and extra deeds

39. So receive your celebration cheerful
Not waning

40. And poetry is an amusement for one
Who pitched his tent, and a traveller is departing

41. So drink to its basil
When it wilted, fresh, not withering

42. And know that its beauty
Is the core of the excellent poets
