1. My imagination finds ample meaning
Though you made it sick, your phantom came back to it

2. Sleep did not travel after separation
Except your imagination came to it as a visitor

3. And the agony of the longing one, if love is denied
Awake, it meets him while asleep

4. It fulfilled the covenants of separation as if
They were covenants made for the doves

5. And those gazelles with the cheek mole displayed
Images while the one with eyeliner was an obstructer

6. The embrace was too tight for it around their necks
That the necklaces scattered, ripped apart

7. And tears flowed with amber, so they resembled
Crowns over its moons and pillows

8. They overflowed with tears that kept falling
And held in a soul that kept rising

9. And they saw the ardour of our hearts so they revealed
A yearning that makes early youth cold

10. Who leaves the guide of dew in his palm
So, Ibn Abdillah calls upon the guide

11. To return the current of souls flowing from it
And souls thirsty for it incoming

12. Either a rider galloping its generosity steeds
Or heading towards you with poems

13. Or did you not see the rain, how unwise its view
When it resembled the Prince abundant virtues

14. When it increased, I said you are not similar
To the increasingly growing favours of Sayf al-Dawla

15. A rain that prompts the meadows until it
Spreads to relatives and distances

16. And repetitively bestows gifts after
It began and sufficed so as not to be renewed

17. It loved jihad so whenever it prevented the enemies
Its voice became the voice of one striving

18. Its determination made its horses sniff
The mountains, climbing up and descending

19. It throws them at the enemies, leading them one time
And protecting their rear another time

20. Domes, when they slope towards their homelands
Nothing remains except a kidnapper or hermit

21. It marches the Euphrates with them sometimes melting
Its waves rise at times frozen

22. A King chasing their kings with spears
Until he paralyzes them, striking with his steed

23. With young men dressed in iron armor
And burqas, bracelets, and muscular arms

24. The lion of war leads them even though
He leads a lion from among them and lionesses

25. They possessed the position of kings from their enemies
So the corners of earth became from it mosques

26. A King who brings back the air as pitch black
And returns the face of the earth crimson, defeated

27. The remnants of eggs became from it vocal
And the shadows of the settled horses, witnesses

28. And fingers that depleted inquiries with them, so if
Their equals filled the sea, it would be depleted

29. May he who has conformity not deprive you conforming
And the obstinate one, disputing

30. For religion, its pillars are now revered
And disbelief, its pillars are now collapsed

31. And the Romans, no boy nor newborn remained in their land
The month of fasting passed while bowing

32. Filled with humility or prostrating
It passed, and if a praiser praised its fasting

33. And standing, he would send more praise to you
So I met your breakfast with arrival

34. And I saw your feast recurring with joy
And if I shunned sights of regret

35. I attained sights of the doves
And I craved the cup of asceticism

36. Leaving you craving the cup of wine
It dressed me in bounties that changed for me

37. The love of a friend, so it returned from it envious
So may it dress praise walking

38. And immortalized, as long as an immortal fades
Spare every subtle utterance for its gold

39. And judge it by you as the assayer
