1. A people passed with their mounts, suffering drought
As night stretched over them during their journey
١. ورَكْبٍ أَممَّوا قَحطا
نَ والَّليلُ بِهِمْ يَسطُو
2. So they unloaded their belongings in that place
In the valley of barrenness when they stopped there
٢. فحطُّوا رَحلَهم منه
بوادي الجَدْبِ إذ حَطُّوا
3. How could good possibly come
From a lad whose name means drought
٣. وأنَّى يَفْعَلُ الخَيْرَ
فتى نِصفُ اسمِه قَحطُ
