1. You sent her, a virgin with a slender neck,
Dressed in a flowing robe, a houri of high rank,
2. He prepared for her a perfume of pure sincerity,
And instilled in her the spirit of a fragrant flower,
3. And dressed her in a diaphanous garment,
That reveals her neck and trails over her waist,
4. Containing limpid water like her own purity,
It came like fresh snow in solid gold,
5. To take the place of his father, who had passed away,
Just as you took the place of your noble ancestors,
6. And the morning breeze makes me her partner,
Spreading her sweet scent to the horizons,
7. What an excellent son, who tells of a young man,
Who protected us in every time of distress,
8. If he brings her to me an Arabian mare,
I will thank him with excellent poetry,
9. And how many free hands have I caressed,
That I inspired with virgin rhymes,
