1. Blackness does not diminish the valorous man,
Nor the learned and adept youth.
١. ليسَ يُزري السّوادُ بالرّجلِ الشَّهمِ
ولا بالفتى الأديبِ الأريبِ
2. If blackness has a share of you,
Then the whiteness of character is my share of you.
٢. إن يكن للسوادِ منكَ نصيبُ
فَبياض الأخلاقِ منكَ نصيبي
