يا جائزين فؤادي عندهم وجبا

1. O you who have my heart with them as a prize
You killed an innocent one, how could that be justified?

١. يا جائزين فؤادي عندهم وجبا
قتلي بريئاً سلمتم كيف قد وجبا

2. And if you see me perished, it is by your own doing
And I wish I perish since you were the cause

٢. وإن تروا تلفي حتماً فدونكم
وحبّذا تلفي إذ كنتم السببا

3. From passion and yearning, my heart has become full of yearning
And since I yearned for your loyalty, it has not complained of agony

٣. من صبوة وصبا قلبي غدا وصبا
ومُذ صبا لوفاكم ما اشتكى وَصَبا

4. Neither silver in exchange would please me, nor gold
For your company and for you, my heart is as gold to you

٤. لا فضة بدلاً أرضى ولا ذهبا
عن وصلكم وبكم قلبي لكم ذهبا

5. Laziness has gripped those whom grace has gripped
And their excellence - every good is attributed to them

٥. عم التكاسل عمّن عمّ بشرّهم
وفضلهم كل معروف له نُسبا

6. O seeker of conquest, if misfortunes have afflicted and overcome me
Then seek to open [the gates] with an army of them and overcome

٦. يا طالب الفتح إن أردى المُنى وكبا
فاستفتحن بجيش منهم وَكَبا

7. And embark upon their ship with truth as your provision
You will find your way in the sea of love to be wondrous

٧. واركب سفينتهم بالصدق مُعتمداً
تجد سبيلك في بحر الهوى عجبا

8. For they have many complete favors in conquest
They are the glories, the poles, and the utmost nobility

٨. فكم لهم منَنٌ بالفتح وافية
هم الأماجد والأقطاب والنُّجبا

9. The breezes of intimacy brought to them the scent of acceptance
And their rain poured with beneficence and overflowed

٩. أهدت لهم نفحات الأنس عَرفَ رضى
وانساب غيثهم بالغوث وانسكبا

10. The wild doves did not coo at dawn in the valleys yearning
Shaking with agony, hoping for their melody to bring joy

١٠. ما غرّدت سحراً في الدوح ساجعة
تهزّ ذا شَجَن ترجيعها طربا
