1. He kisses the ground with kindness, confessing,
A servant has come, necessitating etiquette.

2. He sends peace to those absent from my sight,
And from my heart - by Allah, they did not disappear.

3. O Yusuf, Jacob told of his longing,
Lamenting with a heart in you that grieves.

4. My longing for you and my distance from you,
Confused my heart, it did not settle or wander.

5. My heart and my gaze, from their state, chided me.
Whatever is between your absence passes away and spills out.

6. And all this, if it pleases you, O my hope -
May Allah not deprive me of the sweetness of meeting, my Lord.
