1. O night that granted my heart its wishes
I sacrifice for you my days and nights

2. Will there come a time like when it passed, in which
My heart revived its meaning from its devotion?

3. A time that blessed me despite the jealous one's rage
With what I did not expect I would find

4. From the intimacy of a gazelle, I was pleased with its glances
The pouring of passion became reciprocal

5. Its cheeks tempted me in vain, enticing me
And warning my heart which had no protection

6. Its posture a branch planted in the garden of my heart
A chain, a stream of beauty its water bearer

7. The birds of joy chirped to it in good fortune
As if saying "Glory to its Creator"

8. Be it flexible, tender, leaning or bending
Who can compare to it or endure it?

9. It grows more beautiful so my heart grows sadder
Patience decreases for what cannot be seen in it

10. Since it distinguished me with universal thought, it became
Eloquent praise of its meanings through my poetry

11. I seek refuge from the evil Allah created
In saying: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sufficient
