With copious tears flowing down your cheeks

With time that has passed in comfort

With those I loved despite the envious

6. Yesterday they were still in the homelands
Today they lie inside the graves

7. They settled in the soil, food for worms
And disappeared into it from family and friends

8. They drank from death's cup until
They saw in their drunkenness utter non-existence

9. With their absence life's clarity has become
Turbid with thoughts of flowers

10. And this matter has spread through the wilds
Among the free and the slaves

11. We have no choice but absolute submission
To God's command of mighty wrath
