1. The full moon was fashioned by the Maker
Out of the darkness of the breaking dusk
١. قَد صَاغَهُ القَينُ مِن دُجَى الغَسَقِ
ذَا حَلَقٍ تَستَدِيرُ فِي حَلَقِ
2. Like a ring cast in jet, revolving
In jet, or the new moon when the shadow thins it,
٢. كَأَنَّهُ الصّلُّ حِينَ أَخصَرَهُ الظِّلُّ
فَخَلاَّهُ خَافِتَ الرَّمَقِ
