Knowledgeable in literature and refined

2. I settle in a house happily
Even if I was once unsettled and perturbed

3. I do not contain the mistake of a friend
Nor do I pursue my own whims after they have gone

4. I seek what the generous seeks for sustenance
With my own soul, thus the seeking is beautiful

5. And I milk the fresh udder
And do not tire other udders by milking

6. I have seen that when the generous youth
Desires something, he desires fervently

7. While the slave does not know pride
And gives you nothing unless frightened

8. Like an ignorant donkey who only walks properly when beaten
And I have not found honor in people except through faith

9. When I reflected and lineage
Sustenance may come to the humble resident

10. And not to a restless wanderer without roots
Sustenance is deprived from the one always traveling and perturbed
