It kills and gives life - how wondrous is life

20. And death conjoined in a flower!
If I resisted the frenzy of the waves

21. Battered as the horizon grew dark with clouds
And my hands did not let go of my boat’s

Then destiny will cast it

23. Shattered over hard rocks
And the strongest arm is powerless

24. To grasp the oar without trembling
He who defies the waves is he who

And he is the one who rushes to his doom

26. In a yawning cavity amidst the waves
So let him cast the oar from his hand

27. And leave the wave free in its desires
And let the boat go wherever it wishes

And let the wave swallow it in its belly

29. For today there is no escape from what has come to pass
My struggle was long, and my soul is weary, so

Its birds departed in agony and disappeared

Do not leave our tired boat

42. To flow with despair and ongoing torment
Do not deliver its oar to ruin

43. For the promised shore is nearing
Be the swelling of the waves loud or subsided

44. We will not bow before difficulties
This is my hand! Give me your hand!

45. We will brave the swelling and cross the waves!
My soul called on yours, wandering:

46. The people's laws in this existence
Are too weak for feelings to defeat

47. I wish I could shatter these shackles
And come to you over the storm
