1. When water caresses the shade of trees,
And clouds flirt with moonlight,

2. And birds echo their breaths,
Matching the dew and flowers.

3. A lovelorn gazelle moans,
Whispering to the streams and lamenting fate.

4. The breeze passes over the river,
Kissing every sailing vessel.

5. The land reveals from its night
Beauties of varying forms.

6. A willow there in the gloom,
As if darkness never knew it.

7. I took my place in its shade,
My heart a wanderer, my gaze sad.

8. I glance across the sky,
Lost in thought, head bowed.

9. I see your face under the palm trees,
And hear your voice by the river,

10. Until the gloom wearies my loneliness,
And melancholy tires of me.

11. All things wonder at my confusion,
And dawn stars pity me.

12. So I leave to return expectantly,
For our awaited encounter!
