5. We have never heard the like of your beautiful mention
Nor seen the like of your abundant kindness

6. And we have never arrived at another spring of your generosity
Yet from your drink we have quenched our thirst

7. And when you made pilgrimage to us, we made pilgrimage
To you, and offered up our souls as gifts

8. And to the ideal you manifest in us
We bow obediently and do not disobey

9. And we praise the marks of good fortune
And no other meaning occupies our minds but your beauty

10. And how often the flirts try to distract us
From passion for you, but we do not get distracted

11. I swear by my soul that goes running ecstatically towards our union
Whenever she comes walking gently towards me

12. She hides from us, though she is with us
Appearing to lead her followers gently towards us

13. So the setting of the sun of her delight is in the eye
That beholds the rising of its witness over it
