1. He appeared like the crescent and became full moon
And marched to glory with no decline
١. تَبَدّى كَالهِلالِ وَصارَ بَدراً
وَسارَ إِلى السَرارِ بِلا زَوالِ
2. That we may see his month and fast therein
And Break fast on the day of fulfillment
٢. لِنَشهَدَ شَهرَهُ وَالصَومَ فيهِ
وَعيدَ الفِطرِ في يَومِ المَآلِ
3. His light appears in our darkness
Like moonlight in the gloom of night
٣. وَيَبدو نورُهُ في الظِلِّ مِنّا
كَضَوءِ البَدرِ في ظُلمِ اللَيالي
