The ignorant, deluded fool out of folly

1. The ignorant, deluded fool out of folly
Imagined that virtue for a man lies in wealth,

2. And thought that the garb of asceticism was a disgrace
If a man should go about naked, without clothes.

3. But in his heedlessness and conceit he did not know
That the adornment of the virtuous lies in their deeds.
