And the youth poured their drink only for your sake

Yearning to appease my heart by the thought of you

10. My strength is from you, and in you my weakness
My despair to ever attain you destroys me

11. What hopes can my likes hold of union with you
Of eyes feasting upon your procession?

12. But your soothing presence gave me courage
To whisper my secret and your name

13. O object of veils, will disclosure come one day
Dispelling the shell from my eyes by your sight?

14. Can night’s abandon know dawn, watched for
By one who sees no dawn but your smile?

15. The dawn never left me, O my wish
Ailment just hid it from my eyes

16. You traveled, so eyes were veiled from you
In their veil was the perfection of your grace

17. With a glance you told spectacular tales
Like a narrator, while viewers were veiled

18. Each saw a reflection of you in themselves
So fathomless remained your essence

19. None comprehended your mysterious whole
Except the Knower of the unseen realms

20. If I say less of you, reproach me
And rebuke me for blasphemy against you
