1. O you who wish to enrich yourself at the expense of our poverty
With asceticism in you, poverty has enriched us
١. يا راغِباً بِغِناهُ عَن فُقَرائِنا
بِالزُهدِ فيكَ الفَقرُ قَد أَغنانا
2. Had you tasted the flavor of our food and drink
You would not have lived your life hungry and thirsty
٢. لَو ذُقتَ طَعمَ طَعامِنا وَشَرابِنا
ما عِشتَ عُمرَكَ جائِعاً ظَمآنا
3. And had you walked the straight path of our way
You would not wander confused in the wilderness
٣. وَلَوِ اِستَقَمتَ عَلى سِواءِ سَبيلِنا
لَم تَمشِ في تيهِ الفَلا حَيرانا
4. And you would know the house we resided in
And enjoyed in it the maidens and our children
٤. وَلَدُرتَ بِالدارِ الَّتي دِرنا بِها
وَلِثَمتَ فيها الحورَ وَالوَلدِنا
