1. Gone is nobility and loyalty from the land

١. ذهَب التَكرُّمُ والوفاءُ من الوَرى
وتَصرَّما إلاّ من الأشعارِ
2. Betrayals of friends and others run rampant
Until we doubt what our eyes see
٢. وفشَتْ خِياناتُ الثِّقاتِ وغيرهم
حتّى اتّهمْنا رُؤيةَ الأبصار
