1. Is it love that settled the living, or did they complain
Whether they emigrated, they were killed, or tried, they were tempted

2. By Allah, my soul has not settled for anyone
Since the departing neighbor left, my peace left

3. Who can guide me to a loved one taken by fate
Her protectors are lions, she walks with fortresses

4. They travelled intending from the protected land a country
With sadness challenged when passed by sorrows

5. And sometimes they left the desert a sea of blood
As if the wood in its current are ships

6. Of every bird-like carriage, four of them
As if they are in the forest of aloes, close

7. Yearnings whose echo lasts that its watering place
Does not draw water except when the channels pour

8. Precious items that fill the palm of the hand when obtained
So they do not wander above their wrapping

9. Yearning for Nejd as I yearn for its dweller
Does any living heart not have agony

10. And above it every fully loaded aroma
Its love present, suppressed and hidden

11. You cry and marvel at the return of friends as
A watered branch sways from a wet branch

12. Tell her who traveled the day of departure, so
For the youth a smiler from her nestled

13. No human eye has seen before seeing her
Field maple and lavender embraced by a branch

14. Oh death of the soul, why did you become one who severs
Greet your yearning one while the grieving period is new

15. And whoever you called beauty temporarily
He is definitely beautiful from you hidden

16. I kept looking around in wonder
I do not see beauty associated with beneficence

17. Until the support of the religion appeared to me, so I saw
A name, face and deeds all good

18. So I said, and the truth is clear, no hiding it
Glory to the sender of heavy rain aiming arrows

19. Outstanding in what the thousands fail in
And for men there are measures, when weighed

20. No character resembles him in the generosity of morals
The people of this world, so consider them and this time

21. The caliph to the judges, if they came
The house of dew and the son of Abdul Wadud, a pillar

22. A patch knowing that spending money is his habit
The Imam’s money is stored with him forever

23. Two money situations, one he is accused
Of generosity and one he is entrusted

24. If it were not for the best of what kings did for the young
To preserve what they gained and stored

25. Yusuf would not say: make me over
The treasures of the earth and see how you test

26. Oh wise master who protects glory and refused
To attain glory but by a wise master

27. And whoever’s rank is high in both states
Above pleasure and the enemy disappointed

28. It cried when the envious saw you in it
As if you cried in their eyelids, they were stabbed

29. If you appear to them, they frown sullenly
As if humiliation is on their eyelids and teeth

30. A people who when blessings slip them
Show ingratitude which makes favors loss

31. Oh savior of the state, listen to one of prestige
Its traits unmatched, no doubt or uncertainty

32. Your glory has been for me a treasure to squander
And I headed to you when lack narrows

33. A young man only reaches for the most precious treasures
While he is tested

34. So turn to me, may God shepherd you, with a look
From you, my matter today is mortgaged

35. And wear the mail of praise woven
From the silk of my thoughts, no weakness in its fabric

36. Elevate the gifts of the Commander of the Faithful for us
Above detraction and obligation

37. The nights will not bear to cloud it
Nor will high positions see it degraded

38. For the caliphate you are the essence today
Nothing to it is secret or public but you

39. What is the state today but the person of prestige
In what we see it, and you are its eyes and ears

40. So remain a refuge sought when
Hard nights show a rough side

41. I hope you take care of it generously
As kings of old cared for the weak

42. And that the shackles of fate release my hopes
So the displaced family and homeland come near

43. You rose like Saad’s luck for the people and they
Feared the days, but when you came, they felt safe

44. So praise be to Allah, this is when favors are complete
Fear and grief dispelled from us

45. Continuous from the good deed of God protecting
Your heights from nights of madness

46. No visitors circled the house, no palms lifted
And no enmity for it, safe and secure
