1. When the banner of spring appeared
And the armies of winter were defeated

2. The water on the armors increased
And the light became like the rising tongues

3. It shook the rain from its branches
And the clouds unloaded their burdens

4. And the morning breeze conveyed messages
When the compassion of winter departed

5. And the pulpits of trees were erected
And the beds of birds preached

6. And the expression of jest became eloquent
It is a witness for the banner of spring

7. And Nawruz came like a governor
So excellence took back from the nights

8. And gave good news of perfection to the deficient
So the world returned to moderation

9. And religion and the sun belonged to Sa‘d revived
Each, through which God attained glory

10. So justice resided and seclusion was observed
And injustice said farewell, condemned, and turned away

11. The two glories made the two suns fortunate
The sun of morning and the new moon of the sultan

12. In the happiest of days and times
Giving good news of security and safety

13. So the people and days became balanced
And the marked and unmarked were safe

14. Since they rose and people saw
No more injustice or darkness remained

15. The bow of time has become an arrow
And it shot the earth so it pierced

16. The shoulder from it bleeds with berries
And terror has become a defeat for winter

17. It whitened before the greening, the branches
So the branch became youthful before youth

18. It blackened after whiteness, the stems
So time became old after old age

19. The promise made pleading unnecessary
And the cloud turned away from turning away

20. And laughters came out to the gardens
Meeting the gardens with gardens

21. The flowers are an eye for the garden that winks
It hugs for a while and then it opens

22. It sleeps with it sleepy and wakes up weeping
But it overflows with tears

23. The garden is in a sun that makes it dark at night
And the clouds are near to it, prowling

24. So whenever the slumber turns its eye
It smiles at it with sprinkling

25. Vigor and cloud shared in the gardens
Cutting the day with laughter and crying

26. When the south wind came, it cried in it
Until when it returned north, it laughed

27. The atmosphere became filled with terror and alarm
And the earth threw its jewels at it

28. So the branch feared its overpowering troops
Like a finger gesturing apotropaically

29. Help the wind and do not care
And do not make people aware of it in your mind

30. Or stealthily in an empty place
Where the right hand does not know the left

31. Rather, He who forgives it knows
If you return regretfully seeking His forgiveness

32. Even if you repeated it your whole life
There is no sin too great for God’s pardon

33. I do not see consuming myself without cause
In any doctrine as permissible

34. I am a man, whether you are amazed or not
Worry eats me if I do not drink

35. An outstanding man who gathered all praise
And none found a peer or equal for him

36. How many unique ones do you see in the world
As for the world, it has only one unique one

37. Most wretched, who cannot but do good
And a coward who fears to show cowardice

38. And a benefactor who attains all desires
The lack of a young man is his path to riches

39. When he sees annihilating his confidant
You would think it is money he hoards from him

40. He buys annihilation from his confidant
Taking it from him for what he gives him

41. His asking associate in blessings
A judge of wonders says about his traits

42. May God help him in his generosity
In an era that encompasses the greatness of his concern

43. Of generous character, his traits are his garden
A truth worthy of praise in reality

44. Flowing from him constantly on his path
Is the generosity of one with good traits

45. Who hoards money into necks (of slaves)
And stores praise for successors

46. Hands that calculate precisely
Remain while their owners are long gone

47. Say to the aider of the debt-ridden eminent man
And honesty is the most magnificent jewelry of speech

48. Today you tied firm the ropes of hopes
You were most just, appraiser of men

49. O king whom mercy makes angelic rule
You have ruled the zeniths of highness so you ruled

50. Not the wealthy with intertwined stars
But your oppression on the celestial sphere

51. With a sharp sword your hands
What the kings of earth have is not like that

52. And it is what God made endure for you
The best of what your fathers inherited

53. Consider the witness among its opinions
And by it gauge the absent among its views

54. It is a vizier with no view higher than yours
An opinion equal to your approval in your contentment

55. If two were named Anushirvan
And described with justice and beneficence

56. Then the night has two dawns
But the truthful among them is the second

57. Most just is the Master and he—we know—
Does injustice to his money over the servants

58. And merciful when the sinner surrenders
To himself from his generosity he has no mercy

59. His flowing generosity tired out the clouds
And surpassed the acuity of his view, swords

60. And emulated great masterpieces
So he pleased the nation and the Imam

61. He has an era where all of it is spring
And an ambition whose rising is awe-inspiring

62. So people in his gardens are pacified
And time is an obedient, listening slave

63. The sun of his face rains and rises
His face does not become clouded and lightning

64. The gushing sea of his streams
Engulfs description and does not drown

65. A sword whose realm guards its edges
And religion brandished alarm on its sides

66. The right hand moves it to the caliphate
Until it eliminates those who intended opposition

67. Unfailing, and no armor sheds its scabbard
The sultan of the world made it ready for victory

68. While he is needless to attend at its limit
So it defeats the army with a name alone

69. He has a hand whereby hands are dwarfed
Next to it the sea is diminished while it is magnified

70. Not seven from one are composed
Except that its regions and the pen are for it

71. A spear whose innate nature became its blades
And a steed whose range became its field

72. If its reins are not held back from scope
Its reins are between its tusks

73. For its horses in the rock are ringing marks
For them the traces of nails are drops

74. And the parchment from its symbols without hyperbole
Clipping the enemy’s death from what they clip

75. Glory lasting with the nights growing
Comes back to the originator from it the returnee

76. Conjoined—so let the envious await it
As it is only the beginning of one and single

77. Before making him rule its regions
The Lord of the world reign in his heart

78. As his heart clothed it in its blackness
Before clothing it in his gowns

79. His ennoblement was slower than his courtesy
And if we grew impatient from awaiting him

80. Informing that the greatness of his position
Rises above what rises with it

81. But there was no haste to ennoble
Except from shyness in hesitation

82. How can there be—when the equitable is absent—
Ennoblement of a master, which itself is nobility

83. If ennoblement reached in exaggeration
The counted saying of an ennobler

84. Each fulfilling the utmost hopes
It would be beneath his rare worth

85. It sufficed what his Creator clothed him with
Of the garb of glory and exaltation that sufficed him

86. If His approval had not included him
The sultan of God’s land, the Shah of Shahs

87. O towering to the sky in loftiness
Stepper on the crescent in highness

88. So what is the direction of the enemy’s cynosure
Have you made your praiser safe from going too far?

89. What the minds molded about you
Is beneath the bracelet and crown

90. So where, O poetry, are your prime stallions?
Now is the time to say, so let them speak

91. How I withhold the necklaces from aspiring
Beneath surpassing them in aspiring

92. What I said and what you did remaining
Both are necklaces of necks

93. I presented them to reason like bangles
I stripped them while the mind's limb is weakness

94. Condescending from me without jest
Distinct superiority in scope to my superiority

95. Far from my nature being seen in it a stamp
Especially after white hair and baldness

96. But earnestness brings what shines forth
Without blemish on a cheek with no innovations

97. No blame in what the rouser said
Exciting the praiser of kings is more striking

98. Is not Hassaan who cannot be blamed
For his saying—it is delicious—pure

99. My Master, your honoring me was a beginning
Incumbent for all to emulate you

100. And whoever refused that went astray
So the shadow mimics its straightening

101. For the promised stroke I came expecting
But an angry chamberlain hindered me

102. And how can one whose place is brought near
Be veiled behind the veil of a heart?

103. Your brilliant state in its rise
Is like the sun or more careful in its making

104. While the sun privileges people from its rays
With a screen composed from its nature

105. O honor of the debt-ridden eminent religion
You were generous to hearing

106. And to intimacy and despair you were forever called
May God’s preservation from it fortify you

107. From an towering palm-tree of glory spreading branches
A house of exaltation with firm pillars

108. Lasting—and may its elevated place last—
Forever magnifying their ascent its sultanate

109. Live happily with lasting bliss and celebration
Remaining for us in the shade of agreeable living

110. Straightening with view all bent
And opening with effort all confusing

111. God guaranteed—and He does not break oaths—
You will remain as long as time extends

112. Is it not in His book, so let them search:
“And the one who benefits, it is he who remains”

113. O you who predecessors shade
With no successor to replace you

114. You remained over the eras a sword attained
Vanquishing and enriching— discontent and approval with you

115. Of state over the Guardian always extravagant
Its shadows and brands for the enemy

116. Lasting—its last unattainable
As if your lifespan is an exhausted limit
