1. Are you made happy by your stature,
O night whose dawn is awaited?

2. A captive traveled to greet it with purpose,
Perhaps your darkness may aid him.

3. Prolong, my night, for they are determined
To depart and your dawn is awaited.

4. The night of a young man is not short
If the time of his death is tomorrow.

5. So that if this is the case, will descend
From my eyesight its blackness unlifted,

6. Lest their separation occupy
And its scene be before my eyes witnessed,

7. As long as the days separated us
If a purpose was lurking to ambush us,

8. Your eyes with shedding my blood have sinned
So why has your cheek wrinkled?

9. And my blood does not look good on it
So why have you worn it?

10. The fire of passion has not inflamed your cheek
Except ignited by the cheek’s fuel,

11. Its attainer has become successive
Like drops so we do not count them,

12. And its thoughts have become wavy
Like a sea feared in its abundance,

13. In my chest from anxiety are troops
Mustered by yearning marshalled by it,

14. And my fluttering heart presents them
As if my heart were chased by them.

15. My glances are sick and its illness
Is what the sufferer has become accustomed to.

16. You who goodness forever claiming
Still masters me and courts me,

17. How many free ones in closeness or distance
You have enslaved to you?

18. My life with your mention still
Remains immortalized forever,

19. With glory shading its climax
And living favoring its ease.

20. The victory of Islam has narrated a purpose
From afar intending its range,

21. To God with the palm of His Caliph
An arrow directing its straightness,

22. Released by the state’s justice
Hoping to near the farthest,

23. The earth's breadth to his resolve
Is like a smooth field when he defines it.

24. The eras waver at its heights,
The depths of travel and its pillars,

25. For an Imam whose promise is revived
And who kills the centuries with his threats,

26. Whoever does not bow to his commands
The cutting sword makes him bow,

27. Or aids the victory of his opponent
Vigor throws him down.

28. He has become a support for his caliphate
Concerned with truth so supports it.

29. If he extends his palm seeking it
Why would you consider the star far?

30. A crown—O Time—his virtues
Are bound above your forehead,

31. And the passion for generosity possessed him
So why prolong its dawdling?

32. By the empty throne for him
He prevailed and its delivery is agreed.

33. Thus the lion now seeks amnesty from him
And rain now seeks his want.

34. And his fingers turn a pen
Assigned with kingship to stabilize it,

35. Picking those who reaped him
From the concern of his enemies to reap them.

36. The illumination of his conquests increases
So shortens its duration from him.

37. A sword for the religion and its victory
Bared at the right hand of the kingdom,

38. And the scabbard is the shield—marvel
At a sword that kills its sheath!

39. And the paper of his writing forever
Is adorned by his hand with pearls,

40. To be for the Imam of the time tomorrow
An insignia he awards him.

41. By his prayers and sending blessings
His uniqueness in the nation spread.

42. Two noble qualities combined for him
By which his oneness in time is distinguished:

43. A breath for the religion by which he lives
And so his fervor remains,

44. And the envoy of the greatest Imam of guidance
In a pillar of it he erects.

45. And God has decreed righteousness for him
So he chose him as one seeking guidance.

46. As for the people, they have known
And time that you are unmatched;

47. And your words—all people of my time
Have taught whom you rely on:

48. Your brother in your truth is a believer,
And your brother in your lies an atheist.

49. O you whom in the world on my eyes
Nothing but you is praised,

50. Nobility when mentioned
Is like the Law—and you are Muhammad.

51. So may a famed month that has arrived gladden you,
Seeking your threshold intending it.

52. Praiseworthy was its beginning
When its arrival was praiseworthy.

53. A month whose edges by you were honored,
Honoring your ascension preparing it.

54. By loyalty to you its faster is rewarded,
And by your bounty the secret of its celebrator.

55. It has come seeking its arrival
A covenant with you to renew,

56. And the day has shaded its farewell,
For a meeting from you provisioning it,

57. And a promise from you of its return
In enduring glory immortalizing it,

58. And to witness at God tomorrow—
And it will be truthful when you make it testify—

59. With your prayers or your blessings in it
For every extension of its stretching.

60. O you whom the day shades
With what generosity you have become accustomed:

61. The sending of a hand nothing withholds
Except wakefulness seizing it at night.

62. A accursed devil reckons it
Has ended while fasting shackles him,

63. So he ran foolishly stumbling in me
In the verse's terrain restricted.

64. And in the galloping of his hooves
He came with what I recited.

65. Poetry like a meadow—its depths
Watering time and helping it.

66. Slumber has wandered from my eyelids
Until its scraps have reconciled for me.

67. O you who never ceased in nobility
To possess me and court me,

68. How many free ones in closeness or farness
You have enslaved to you!

69. My life with your mention still
Remains immortalized forever.
