1. The moon and full moon rose together
So I asked, which of the two is my beloved's face?
١. أقْمَر والبدرَ طالعَيْنِ معاً
فقلتُ وجهُ الحبيبِ أيُّهما
2. They shone through the darkness and gloom
But in my eyes no difference could be traced
٢. وأشْرَقا في ذوائبٍ ودُجىً
فزالَ في العَيْنِ فَرْق بَيْنَهُما
