1. O confider of secrets, scattering pearls at my eyelids,
And follower of secrets, winking for their concealment,

2. And ring for me over the eyes hastily,
The day of farewell when the spies were absent,

3. With a ring of red agate, wondrous,
Its inscription being two lines with white gems,

4. I trusted a human eye that it would sleep with him
Days when no loyalty in a human exists,

5. None tempted me but the evil of his slander,
And people from afar know not my affair,

6. My teary eye did not relate on the day of my killing,
When you translated my sending forth and my laments,

7. Except the servant of God, Zayd, during his stand,

11. I cannot forget the day it made me cry and laugh,
Our standing where it pastured and I pasture,

12. Each saw himself in the eye of his companion,
So beauty made it laugh while grief made me cry,

13. The bow arched in farewell, drawing me near,
An arrow, so it distanced me from where I was brought close,

14. I was attached to love like a candle is attached
To fire - in ignorance I kept it so it destroyed me,

15. O you who with a glance and bow left me,
Perplexed between an intoxicated and drunk,

16. Why does the length of your cheeks constantly wear
Your ears as a bond and my heart is in your suffering?

17. The two sorcerers are your eyes to us,
So why should the earrings be punished by inversion?

18. I fear for you, having harmed wrongfully,
The consequence of the mischief of your tempting eye,

19. For in a time, the supporter of the faith controls it,
Fate does not dare leaving anyone in defiance,

20. The highest of rulers in glory and eminence,
In view and superior in secret and proclamation,

21. No one fills his eye looking at him,
And he fills the earth with justice and kindness,

22. In the heart he has a place that no eyelids of whites
Abandon, though whites of eyelids,

23. They were not accustomed, like an unsheathed flashing sword,
To a sword in sheath or to two swords sheathed,

24. More wonderful than red water is the heart of hearts for him,
Flowing crimson the purple of vines,

25. Its white swords have not run a sea of blood
In his eye like a mirage to the thirsty,

26. It relies, if the eye of the sun travels from it for a year,
Until it wishes if it could blink with eyelids,

27. But its shade becomes its pillow,

28. When it appears rising in the saddle of a precursor

30. The seal ring of kingship is in his right hand and his sword,
So no fear of it being snatched by a devil,

31. But its sheath, with his politics in it,
If you look at it, captivity of jinn,

32. O taker of land by force then giver of it
Generously - so for people two days from him:

33. A day of provision and a day of deprivation,
Who, if his army's water is divided, the circling

34. In drinking will not be completed for them,
One who wears the Indian steel out of glory

35. And shoes his horses, seeking it, with shields,
No wonder if the hooves of steeds marked for him

36. Shoulders of earth from killer to subjugator,
For you, O sky, are also marked for him,

37. So your crescent is none but the letter Noon of the Sultan,
When he mounted horses and celestial spheres there appeared for him

38. With fire and light for sights a marking,
The beasts of prey take provision like humans, gaining it

39. From the handful of the creation of God a filling,
He draws near the guardian and is drawn near with the enemy when

40. He shelters him hungry, eagle or wolf,
How the hyena takes prey whenever it desires for him

41. Over prey, of horses and boys,
And in the burrows, some of them, and palms together

42. To beasts of the wilderness, a mixed troop,
Of every arrow and daring bird with both

43. Of borrowed and slave, two wings,
Feathered birds of prey or feathered birds of prey which

44. From them hung on right hands and left hands,
Each led horse whose rider the steed carries

45. Like captives sitting behind horsemen,
It is said it tailored a garment sprinkled on it

46. From the musk rat, pure, red yarn,
As if in each part of it for hunting an opening

47. To the elite of cadavers exists,
And a thickset like a star of speed, of quickness,

48. When it runs pursuer of entrails swiftly,
It returns in his grip protected and his leadership

49. As if it is an ember in the palm of a child,
So ask, the expert of the people will inform you, of a king

50. Whose hands and generosity in the world are allies,

51. When two eyes are not filled with fear of it?
While if the lion, on the day of hunting, sees them,

52. It leads forward, driven by ears,
Is that not because the one seeking refuge in it

53. Is fed by fate with might in place of humiliation?
O just, his justice and generosity being together,

54. And speaker, his words and deeds being siblings,
If one glories in the justice of Nushirwan

55. While people in his era are worshipers of fires,
You are too great to be comparable to him,

56. But your vizier is the second Nushirwan,
Good fortune is none but like the book, and no

57. Beauty in the youth's choice but like a title,
You excelled for religion and the world both ruling them

58. Filled with nobility and understanding,
Of high ambition in the sky of glory,

59. Below its two pillars the nearest,
The highest sphere does not find its goal,

60. So its ceaseless cycle is that of confusion,
A dominion - if two perspectives looked to it -

61. Then cease mentioning monsters and Kaiwan,
Praised in name and deed in his kingdoms

62. In all he appointed of provision and deprivation,
The stars at the tips of spears decree for him

63. Over kings, with victory or abandonment,
The mark "I take refuge in God" became for him

64. On conquests of chaste ones like proof,
Like al-Mu'tasim bi-llah, who stood so length

65. Of opening not seen for Islam like his two,
Against Rome and the Khurramites who tyrannized

66. Amidst the realms, what tyranny,
Like that we hope you for the two openings in order

67. When times resemble times,
O ever-greater in the greatness of rank whenever they looked

68. You remained of greater rank, subduing adversaries,
When you look at a generation that passed distributing

69. You are, from sharpening sword for foes, tempering,
Kissing your palm distracts me and diving is the sea,

70. For words about you over pearls and coral,
My palm, filled from praising a possessor of kingdom

71. And his hearing from my praise not filled,
If among people is ingratitude for his blessings,

72. Ingratitude, then ingratitude to the land's Lord is ingratitude,
To the grandson of the Prophet, son of As-Samit, for him

73. From the kings marched all humbled,
A letter you control in solutions and travels

74. Control of a letter by movements and rests,
So listen, the slave ransoms hearing, may you remain its pasture,

75. For behind meanings is not like careful listening,
A wonder the narrators receive it

76. Wherever it ended, from Iraq or Khorasan,
If its jewels were not before Hassaan, then

77. its presenter is from the era of Hassaan,
When the right hand of the Commander of the Faithful goes forth tomorrow

78. And it adorns him, then pride has made me needless,
Your throne, the palms have surrounded it,

79. As if it is the House surrounded by pillars,
So ceaselessly from near and far

80. Pilgrims throng its surroundings with mounts,
You have lived in the shade of an eternal kingdom,

81. Ally of earnest and loyal, not treacherous,
You have renewed what the days eroded of manners
