1. O you who are more generous than meteors flashing in the dark,
And more glorious than abundant clouds pouring down rain,

2. When the nights turn gloomy over nations,
Or the great ones boast in their pride,

3. A month comes to you bearing good news of might,
Well known for generosity as your reputation is,

4. Too proud to visit you after a year
Without gifts and souvenirs to offer,

5. Make of it an auspicious gift for your right hand,
And a felicitous one for your left,

6. It comes with both hands full so you may
Receive from it at morn and eve abundant bounty,

7. Shun and keep it away lest it boast
Of your bliss which the spheres have spun,

8. And honor it with reward and thanks,
Privately and openly professed,

9. By God's right in the dark of nights,
And the people's right in daylight hours,

10. Leave my own right, for I alone
Am your partisan, be the matter as it may,

11. If you wish to fulfil it, then hasten—
For nothing awaits after evening but disgrace,

12. Seek not to dispute with me, for I
Have been waiting long, ready to sacrifice myself for you,

13. Live on in glorious happiness
Adorned with ascendance and power,

14. In might that frustrates all adversaries,
And longevity that wearies all who vie,

15. A kingdom whose days are prolonged
And grouped in short well-arranged eras.
