1. If my days fall short of my goals
Then let the arrow be excused for missing its mark

2. If fate had helped, I would serve no other soul
Except in service of this sublime assembly

3. But the busyness of the Imam of Events keeps him
From my fervent longing and my allegiance

4. Yet I send to his eminence
Praise voiced though he is absent

5. And a poem that will remain renowned through time
Wandering between composition and recitation

6. God granted him glorious ambitions
Apportioned among the highest virtues

7. He is of flawless character, neither miserly nor cowardly
His honor is free of blame and blemish

8. Necks of wealth bow before him
To a white palm, strong and unflinching

9. In each of his fingers, magnanimity overflows
An abundant ocean, wave after wave

10. You were congratulated, O Virtuous One of the Two Abodes
Venerated in awe and glory

11. Since you came as a deliverer and left
It has two wishes safe from injustice and darkness

12. The nights had been black but your arrival
Brought daylight back to the times

13. You unleashed streams of gold for the people
Flowing from your bounding, protective sword

14. You carried wealth and protected glory through it
The sword adorns the hand of the protector

15. Such is your perfection—may your eye endure
Ever averted from me, O noble son of Saam

16. The permanence of your worldly blessings
Multiplied by the One who granted them to you
