For resting within this glade so fair

Hunting birds together in this haven

Emptying cups, refilling with joy

6. Giving drink from what we cherish
If drink remains, on heads we pour

7. Not wasting drops held dear
I pressed no juice, unless

8. It flowed freely from vine
"The cold makes one numb," you said

9. "A fire must spark midst the wine."
Kindle the flame, my heart's delight

10. As the goblets with red wine shine
This night surpasses all nights

11. Awake! Make merry, let worries sleep!
Purity weaves this moonlight cloth

12. No fears or doubts steal our peace
May the Lord protect the blessed one

13. Who gives so freely from goodness and care
Granting, enriching, merciful, kind

14. What thanks suffice for such fortune?
Gratitude itself speaks his praise

15. The Lord granted him days of glory
Boasts and legends fall short

16. Of his magnanimity and grace
Long have I, a bard, held my tongue

17. Fearing to burden or bore
But now briefly I honor him in verse

18. And compose this simple ode
The guardian streams endlessly
