1. I stayed up all night like my eyelids
As lightning was stringing pearls from the clouds

2. Then the garden’s smile revealed its flowers
And the morning related the radiant face of the caliph

3. He embodied the light of guidance and took form
The gentle breeze revived me when it blew

4. And drew out the tears and their flowing tale
Filling the corners with musk and ambergris

5. As if the rich with God strolled in the garden
So the spirits carried him with their fragrance

6. My heart's secret flowed to the beauty
Stirred by memories and yearning for youth

7. Galloping the steeds of play in the field of youth
Were it not for the son of Nasr, he would not have awakened or regretted

8. He saw the face of the morning of guidance so he was guided
To you, O Prince of the Faithful, is my complaint

9. Al-Hassan therein committed a crime against hearts
And was extremely cruel to eyes

10. And in the night revealed a sign in poetry
Adorned beautifully by the morning

11. Guided by your light the rivers and stars are guided
Its beams grasp the hem of your right hand

12. Your justice in the realm of command is the clearest guide
Its traces in perplexing matters are emulated

13. So why has the sultan of beauty transgressed
And unsheathed swords against frail souls

14. And weak eyelids? Does he not know
We are in the shade of the caliph

15. And a secure state that fears no complaint?
The religion of passion settled and spread in it

16. Take the blood of the ardent lover for a moment he spilt it
And the lightning that ripped the banners of the valley

17. And if they tasked him beyond his capacity
He would relate a most delicious tale

18. My caliph, the protected Imam Muhammad
Assumed the just rule as creed and doctrine

19. And removed the injustice of nights and erased them
So strange is the passion he kindled and inflamed

20. And unleashed a piercingly bright morning
He was armed, resting in the cloud's eyelid

21. Reminding me of lips to Asma when she smiles
Her smile reveals the darkness like the dawn

22. Like the resolve of the Prince of the Faithful when it comes to him
And he glimpses the dawn, radiant and gray

23. Commanding in God’s essence and entering
So glory to He who sent the winds in His victory

24. And filled the meadow’s breeze with His gratitude
So the coolness of morning is folded over its fragrance

25. And however His face appears midst His palace
You see a halo, a full moon having appeared

26. A leader who benefitted his time with knowledge
Thus the blossoms of stars cannot reach his position

27. And extended his protection to east and west
He has no flaw but that his fleecing his petitioner in the seas of favor

28. He is the sea, its expanse ever undulating
He is the full moon but forever replenished

29. He is fate, fearing no adversities or calamities
He is the lofty banner fluttering on the summit of ascension

30. He is the famed sword in supporting the creed
By He who granted existence its existence

31. And expanded His bounty over the earth
Surely He paired glorious victory with His patronage

32. And stretched His celestial soldiers over His realms
And fulfilled for Islam, victory in His promise

33. My Prince, you have succeeded in judgment and leadership
And left no pinnacle to be scaled in noble deeds

34. Thus you guide the disorders of Ibn Rushd to a conclusion
And if this felicity from you is the beginning

35. It will remain immortalized over time
Your good fortune makes you needless of recruiting troops

36. Your existence rivals the stars of heaven
And your face amidst processions and retinues

37. Is the full moon, your sons expanding the horizon of pride
Your sons like fingers, assembled

38. For anticipated adversities of fate
In your shade their term is prolonged

39. God prolong your life forevermore
They are full moons in traits of perfection that arose

40. Clouds bursting with bestowal that poured forth
Swords unsheathed against enemies in victory

41. Stars twinkling in the horizons of ascension
Islam rejoices in their absence and presence

42. With the appointment of your heir, his rule was honored
And in immortalizing your realm his promise was fulfilled

43. Their band under your umbrella was organized
And he bequeathed to them the pride of their father and grandfather

44. He exalted Ali when Ahmad was praised
And your son Nasr follows his example

45. A prince of sound mind and vast knowledge
Came to you with a son illuminated by his star

46. Named for the love of the Messenger of God for his namesake
And for your name in this concurrence he emulated

47. You established the excuse of inability this year
And adorned it with the necklace of your pride

48. Settling it in the shade of your righteousness a paradise
Shielding it with your coat of gratitude a breastplate

49. And erected thereby a mosque for Quran recitation
Their eyes look upon them in reverence

50. Saplings nourished in your garden of generosity
And branched in the grove of ascetics from you

51. Kings cloaked in the mantle of propriety
They adorned beautiful patience in themselves

52. Smiling cheerfully amidst it at their friends
They expressed the horrors of the ordeal with stoicism

53. Their traits from their father and grandfather
Detailing verses of pride through their praise

54. The Helpers trace it back to the precedence of their Sa'd
Illuminating thereby a lamp for the lamps of their Sa'd

55. Why not when they accompanied the Messenger in his sacrifice
O by He who granted existence its existence

56. And expanded the breadth of His bounty
Surely He accompanied glorious victory in His patronage

57. And stretched over His heavens soldiers
And fulfilled for Islam, victory in His promise

58. My Prince, you have succeeded in opinion and leadership
Leaving no ultimate limit to virtues

59. Guiding thereby the disorders of Ibn Rushd conclusively
And if this good fortune from you is the beginning

60. It will remain immortalized over time
You have adorned these charitable deeds

61. The cycles of eras wished for their rising
Displaying through them marvels of beauty

62. Channeling thereby the most virtuous of beneficence
The stream of the Nile wishes it as its course

63. You have let loose therein horses, and they are the swiftest
Pursuing frightened game, they are the boldest

64. Stars, with horizons the Pleiades rise from
Their gaze cannot keep pace, so quickly they bolt

65. When racing shooting stars they outstrip the range
Rising in the darkness of night like planets

66. Arriving at the river of day for watering
Leading thereby to enemies like comets

67. Etching thereby from atop the soil a battleground
Where the heads of Romans bow down in prostration

68. Coursing with the mighty victory, gliding
They are the gates to conquests, heralding

69. They bring you victory, and God is its granter
You remain the door of good, and God its opener

70. Nothing concludes after initiating but You
Winds whose lightning is like their neighing

71. Gazelles, though night may cloak, they are cunning
A cloud from the perfect full moon shades them

72. And a sword from the hand of the ardent shields them
They pelt the evildoer with stones from their mouths

73. If from the honorable they are descended, when associated
It flows, overriding the stars in the sky

74. Leaving thereby the studded heavens some stars
Displaying thereby to the dawn some beauty—and sometimes

75. The dawn would say to it, my soul is your redemption!
Bay ignited the embers of war

76. And seized the redness from ruby and rose a redness
Circulating thereby a draft of war like wine

77. Revealing thereby above it beauty’s prime and blush
Increasing thereby a naturally rosy cheek its crimson

78. Blond, no matter how the galloping radiated its light
Lent the courser of lightning in the horizon its lead

79. Dawned like the horizon, beauty crowning its horizon
Do you not see that God originated its creation

80. So beauty cascaded over its shoulders submission
Sorrel, the steed wishing for its beauty

81. As the coolness of dusk paraded its majesty
When they saddled the wings of night its cover

82. Its prime is the sun that illuminates its scope
With darkness’s train trailing behind it

83. Gray, serious with the cloak of gloom
Stirring therewith a sea of darkness, frothing

84. Its prime a star by which it smolders
The full moon is its saddle and the stars its stud

85. Splitting thereby the certain dawn bound
White like parchment its morning shone

86. Upon beauty its manger and therein its ease
And for the does, gentle, its comfort

87. You see it like a bow the wind inclined
Lost to the eye in the expanse of sky

88. The clouds enwrapped it in the cold of its reins
The glance cannot keep pace with its sudden appearing

89. The rain wet its moist branch
As if it revolved in the horizon a planet

90. However it walks and astounds the mind in wonder
You repeatedly discern it with a glancing gaze

91. It intended to stealthily climb to the sky on a ladder
Walking thereby in the air, a miracle

92. Looking from the bough of the Pleiades like a skullcap
You think it a cloud beneath the clouds a small cloud

93. Flowing over its shoulders the dew of brilliance
It fell and leveled in a condition and tossed

94. Like a bolt of lightning that gleamed its polish
You would think it revolved in the horizon a celestial body

95. However it walks and captivates the mind in marvel
It makes the eye vacillate observing it a lingering glance

96. It intended to ascend to the heavens by a ladder
Walking thereby the line of the unseen, fancying

97. Look to what the mind discloses in thought, discerning
You see a bird that took the form of a human

98. Hiding thereby in the expanse of space, rebellious
Attributed to a birthmark, though its rising was muzzled

99. Its judgments, their rule was silenced dumb
Unlike its parents if it claims relation

100. As its kind also differs from them
I am astonished by it though it was not born engendered

101. The three of them in mention came explained
God named it for us adornment

102. And revealed about it a clear verse
Depositing thereby for the ignorant serenity

103. His blessings therein upon people He scattered
He clothed it in Yemeni muslin, a bridal cloak

104. The shade overflowing above it, unfolded
So many figures appeared therein, vexing the darkness

105. Agitating thereby the fire of hatred, kindling the darkness
And an envious heart, enraged, its flames fueling

106. It is but the manifestation of His struggle
He showed us thereby joys, the merit of His striving

107. Its playgrounds shook the hills of glory
And reminded the heroes of the day of pursuit

108. So You did not waver therein today, confirming it tomorrow
Verily, the Merciful renewed a wondrous creation

109. The grove of wishes bloomed in its atoms
With a palace beyond description You summarized it

110. Captivating sight however You show it
Good fortune in it, You imposed on the onlooker captivity

111. You summoned the nobility from every town
They came with hopes therein novel

112. Endowed with favors already prepared
Hands drawing fully from Your favor

113. Each therefore provided by Your bounty that which sufficed
And there came to You of the Prophet’s family a band

114. Skilled in the aims of noble deeds
Who loved You, no doubt therein

115. Embracing the causes of success in responding from it
The specialization called them, so they rushed to generosity

116. They crossed the sea though the sea surges
To the sea of generosity, its extent unwaning

117. They fully enjoyed the sweet stream of Your kindness
While You made some of Your blessings immeasurable

118. And revered them, seeking the Prophet Muhammad
Upon him the prayers and peace of God

119. With it the order of this system is sealed
With God’s praise it came, sweetly spoken

120. Its purpose eludes the eloquent
Flowers of stars bow to it each morning

121. I send therewith the messenger of the caravan radiant
Talk of struggle rousing souls

122. I aimed thereby, ascending from Iraq
Sending the most eloquent ornamented

123. A dove soaring the praise, singing
I raced the steeds of rhetoric to the furthest range

124. Achieving thereby precedence in the track of guidance
Composing thereby pearls of poetry, studded

125. Encircling thereby the neck of pride, a threaded necklace
Standing thereby between the ranks, a chanter

126. I composed therein generous gems
Sending thereby the scout of beauties to the garden

127. Adorning thereby the shoulder of the kingdom therewith, necklaces
Accustomed thereby to acceptance, habitual

128. Never ceasing in it to the beautiful deed, devoted
Never ceasing in it to the beautiful work, renewing

129. Never ceasing to the greatest pride, immortalizing
You are given an age that is ever replenished

130. You are immortalized with sons all equanimous
The riding camels are sated however long the journey
