1. And a path for the riders of youth that the clouds’ descending rainclouds have veiled
The swords of lightning unsheathe their sharp blades

2. So their tears pour down in fear of its tyranny
Heading westward seeking refuge

3. So I said to it, “Marrakesh and its meadows
To water barren lands and plateaus”

4. More deserving to cry for are the pages of parchment and the weeping pen
So many hands have given generously in religion to please the Messenger of God with their deeds

5. And nothing compares to properly honoring the rights of Shifa’
For in it the minds altogether see clearly

6. In the mirror of beauty, polished by the hand of prohibition
So its attributes generously manifest their splendor

7. Stars of guidance and the ink humbly serves them
Secrets of the unseen and the pen spreads them

8. You have gained, O Abu Al-Fadl, all-encompassing virtue
So the Advocate of the righteous will reward you for advising them

9. And to God belongs praise for undertaking its interpretation
And so excellently yielding to the meanings’ obedience

10. How you’ve explained much ambiguity and resolved many an obscure point
Which ellipses had concealed, you elucidated

11. Virtues appear through it, and benevolence manifests
As the spring has uncovered the desert flowers

12. When you look upon it, it seems like stars
Rising on the horizons of the Pleiades

13. Its meanings are like the ringing water’s clarity
And its words smoothly string together like pearls

14. Gardens the intellect has watered with its acumen
Bearing plentiful fruit for the visitors

15. Bubbling from the spring of certainty is its purity
Delighting those pure of heart with its drink

16. O son of God's neighbor, O son of his saint
You are the most noble when the noble are counted

17. If a man’s roots are good stock
It's no wonder his branches resemble them

18. You remain granting guidance to the era’s luminaries
And alarming the trying times’ calamities
