1. By God, O pillar of glory,
Embarrasser of sun and moon,

2. He who possessed beauty in hearts,
And supported the glance with maidens.

3. He whose nature was not delicate,
Knew not the pleasure of youth.

4. So the free became enslaved,
Taken by the breeze of youth.

5. An oblivious drunk knew no nectar,

With none like its rain quarter.

18. A bride whose crown is of pure gold,
Its flowers, trinkets and robes.

19. She was not pleased to share her glory,
An example is made of her beauty.

20. God supported her kingdom,
She's ruled by the noblest states.

21. In the state of the desired formidable,
The pure King full of prestige.

22. She prides in her cool weather,
In the dress of light and flowers.

23. Its throne a garden of meadows,
Its mirror a surface of water.

24. And the essence of affection from branches,
Is ruled by the making of the Capable.

25. And the company in it of kinds,
Some murmur and some purl.

26. How the flowers tore from pockets,
And crowned the stalks with pearls.

27. So the branch becomes a playful flirt,
And birds sing without string.

28. The ornaments of victory in celebration,
And joy of the religion of guidance renewed.

29. Its sultan the builder of great deeds,
Mohammed the victorious, the fortunate.

30. The one who embarrasses the full moon in perfection,
Its sultan the chosen, the unique.

31. Turn away, my Master, from sins,
Most generous when able.

32. A sun of guidance without setting,
An ocean of kindness without ebb.

33. My Master, O binder of promises
You shaded Granada, harbor of lenience.

34. You went with prosperity and fortune,
And returned with conquest and success.

35. O inspirer of hearts to secrets,
And grantor of triumph and victory.

36. May God soon let me hear you
In safety from travel.
