1. In the cups of the lips there is
The rest of souls

2. And the meadow is covered with the musky breath
The fragrance of souls

3. It dressed the souls in gold brocade
Dazzling the sun

4. A carpet that descended from above the ground
Delighting the soul

5. So take in it a vessel for pleasure
To reach companionship

6. A pulpit of branches upon it sits
The soother of spirits

7. Wearing green silk it adorned
Its graceful fold

8. Rise and see this regal one pale
His beauty has flowed

9. To the tails of the branches inclining
In the adornment of leaves

10. A boon companion said to me addressing
Words of compassion

11. The habit of the sun is to disappear in the west
Bring the sun of comfort

12. If the weather showed us a sullen face
Light the lamp

13. And the faces of drinking replace suns
Whenever they appear

14. With the blankets of intoxication we forgot about cups
Their wine is sweeter

15. Secrets are revealed from the souls
Verses recited

16. The time of companionship is but fleeting
So seize it my friend

17. And the stars of mischief are lit instead of guards
Disputing advisors

18. You do not see the mouth of a smile
Revealing cheer

19. Sending from its flowers coins
Saying good news

20. The Master rode the steed at noon
And recovered and rested

21. With God's soldiers intent he keeps guard
Whether tomorrow or today

22. Gratitude is due to us and joy
Some of us hating others

23. The time of bliss, its days radiant
Its face most beloved

24. It yielded in it lofty dreams
Fruit still unripe

25. Islam therein reaps what it planted
Its sword that shed blood

26. In the conscience of the sheath it roused
Sparks that kindled

27. O Imam with the sharpened sword
Supporter of truth

28. Your radiant smile however it flashed
Outshone lightning

29. And debts of joy through it are sought
Expanding rights

30. For you a face from the radiant dawn derived
Its cheer cheerful

31. And the beautiful pardon from it is desired
Bestowing boons

32. Fruits are blended gently with the breeze
Whenever it blew

33. Bearing righteousness and great favor
Thanking the Lord

34. It shamed whom in the graceful morning said
Enamored with longing

35. The birds twittered so rouse whom dozed
O manager of comfort

36. And dawn stripped off the garb of darkness
Morning shone through
