1. These worlds are but a word, and you are its meaning,
Each says, when you make it speak, "God!"

2. The sea of existence and the sphere of the universe flow,
And in your name, O God, is their course and anchorage.

3. By the light of your face the whole universe shone,
Until the spheres were built by its structure.

4. Throne and carpet, and angels made subservient,
All of them prostrate to God, their Master.

5. Glory to Him who originated things from nonexistence,
And expanded the universe before the universe with His bounty.

6. To one who attributes light to the spheres I said:
"From where did the lights rise, if not for Him?"

7. My Master, my Master, O sea of generosity, immerse me!
And all creation in this sea is lost.

8. So the sphere moves as the spheres move,
The sea of the sky and the sea of earth are its likeness.

9. And all of them are blessings enveloping creation,
Blessed is God, His gifts cannot be counted.

10. O you who untied the firm knot of this existence,
As was delineated in the precedence of knowledge its destinies.

11. Be to me as you were to me when I was without deeds,
Hoping, and without sins I feared committing.

12. And you in the retreats of holiness move me
Until I settle in this universe as my dwelling.

13. How ugly for a servant to forget and You remember him,
While You tend him with kindness and benevolence.

14. Forgive me, O God, the ignorance with which I was afflicted,
For who granted me existence, how can I forget Him?

15. From me a veil I cannot lift,
Except with guidance from You I find pleasing.

16. So favor me with what you have accustomed me to of generosity,
For You are more generous than I hoped for kindness.

17. Then prayer, the eternal prayer of God,
Upon the one whose name in remembrance He elevated.

18. The Chosen One, the match of light never struck,
Nor a fragrance blown from the meadow's breeze passed over Him.

19. And the Elect One, the veil of the universe never parted
From the flower of flowers that delights the eye of its viewer.

20. No stream burst forth in the day for
The sea of seas that covered and concealed it.

21. O Opener of messengers, or O Seal of them in nobility,
God sanctified in both states His meaning.

22. I hoarded nothing but love for You I raise up
As means to the Bountiful One the day I meet Him.

23. God prayed upon You, You His chosen one,
No mouths have been sweetened with the delicious mention.

24. He included your companions with spirit and fragrance,
And gave them generously from the blowing of pardon.

25. He especially chose the best of your elite companions,
And settled them in the vicinity of God Most High.

26. The supporters of His religion, flags of His allegiance,
Virtues by which God praised.

27. And God supported whoever revived their struggle,
And glory constantly accompanied its first and its last.

28. The culled from the essence of glory, its core,
What lies between victory and supporters, their accord.

29. Knowledge and forbearance, and generosity are its traits,
As are might and munificence, some of its qualities.
