1. My Lord commands me to answer His call
Though I've no gift for miracles, nothing at all

2. I'll answer, for You deserve all gratitude
And write what my hopes have gained, once and for all

3. 'Tis You who granted me every favor and boon
My hopes You fulfilled, and increased my fortune's haul

4. 'Tis You who perfects all that time attains
And made the free subservient, loyal vassals all

5. So I persist in doing what good I may
And You persist in rewarding me, great and small
