1. I swear by He who the valleys of Mecca embraced
And by He who the standing pilgrims harbored
١. قَسَماً بِمَن ضَمَّت أَباطِحُ مَكَّةٍ
وَبِمَن حَواهُ مِنَ الحَجيجِ المَوقِفُ
2. Had Moses not supported Muhammad
The bishop would have stood on the pulpit
٢. لَو لَم يَقُم موسى بِنَصرِ مُحَمَّدٍ
لَعَلا عَلى دَرجِ الخَطيبِ الأسقُفُ
3. Were it not for him, neither the cross nor its people
Would have been disgraced at Damietta nor would the Quran have been honored
٣. لَولاهُ ما ذلَّ الصَليبُ وَأَهلهُ
في ثغرِ دِمياطٍ وَعِزَّ المُصحَفُ
