1. Walking the path of cultured men
And traversing the path, traversing peril

2. So one who contends with the elder regarding his family
With blame and hopes from him for gain

3. Is like one climbing a roof without a ladder
Or seeking knowledge by cutting wood

4. Or piercing Mount Sinai with a needle
By your life! We see you do nothing but toil

5. For the hand of a people in its family affairs
Shuts out others from the door of request

6. The ribs of ignorance are crooked
Lost is the road for whomever went

7. And walked the path heedlessly
Strange is the face of this strange conduct
