1. Leave the ignorant to their misguidance
And distance yourself from the unjustly oppressive

2. And if you seek companions, then choose
The best, the righteous, and the wise

3. And hold fast to the religion submissively
With a pure heart and honorable knowledge

4. And follow the way of taste and discernment
The leaders, the elders, the greatest of men

5. And cast off the corrupt and cut his ties
And distance yourself from him trimphantly

6. He who his nature is corrupted
Do not befriend him, no matter how highly regarded

7. Many a fallen man
Rose to prominence, an idol erected

8. True glory is unsullied
By deviations, pure and faultless

9. Through faith straight and upright
Lofty principles raised securely

10. And leave the traitor be, do not weary yourself
For he is bound for ignominy and shame

11. He who breaks a vow, leave him
And part from the blindly stumbling

12. Loyalty is an obligation—deprived is the disloyal
Breaker of pacts, of all merit denied

13. The brother of hatreds—leave him and do not
Seek benefit from him, no matter how great

14. Enslaved by his passions is he, and one
Enslaved by desires will never be noble

15. And for honor's sake, keep your distance
For no foundation can a destroyer establish

16. Nor make an ally of the greedy and ambitious
However highly he may be regarded

17. But preserve the love of the noble
For they are the embodiment of nobility

18. And take pleasure in the company of God's men
And make them a ladder to great heights

19. And take the elect as your companions
For through them from woes you’ll be saved

20. And know the right of the Prophet's companions
And what is owed them, from blames be they saved

21. And may blessings and peace be upon
Their master and guide through the worlds illuminated
