1. My solitude in the abode of sins has been prolonged
And the pride of my heart has misguided me

2. How often I have been called but failed to heed the call
A slave has no refuge when enemies attack

3. With criticism as his sin increases
He followed his desires in all matters

4. And saw them as the strongest mounts
So he went astray, oblivious to calamities

5. Lying on the bed of sins
Far from his people and homeland

6. He veiled his flaws with the cloak of delusion
And deviated from the straight path

7. Melted away in his disease though his cure was near
Captive of his desires and passions

8. Lost in the valley of ignorance
He abandoned truth and right

9. And his misguidance became his path
So you see him with head bowed in fear of his sins

10. And empty-handed though claiming might
He missed his chance with idleness and heedlessness

11. And spent his life between fanciful tales
Dead inside though appearing alive

12. Weak in effort though boasting strength
A wanderer on the road without provision

13. He blackened the hidden book and its pages darkened
Then he went seeking salvation - can this be hoped for one who does wrong?

14. God alone is the refuge for the sinner
In this life and on the day of greatest need

15. The Helper in public and in secret
When the records are read and sins exposed

16. None but the Crown of Prophets has lifted the veil
The Imam of all in every gathering

17. An outpouring of noble traits
Succor in times of tightening straits

18. The brightest star of prophets, sublime in station
The Kaaba of security for fear and distress

19. A sanctuary when enemies attack
Yes, my Master protects the stranger from disgrace

20. And is Bountiful no matter how little I possess
Noblest of creations, best of all, Master of mankind

21. Wearer of the Crown, rider of the Burāq, chief
Of Messengers, open-handed and true

22. The origin of mystery and mankind's mold
The sail for the voyage of days

23. The ultimate end to every conclusion
The first to harmonize each station

24. The hidden point of the Seal and the ends
The temple uniting meaning when apart

25. The cycle of difference, talisman of security
Master Guide to the far extremes of hopes

26. Cause of all creation, drawer and eraser
Mercy to all, marching and halting

27. God's path realized through God established
The fellowship of guidance thereby straightened

28. Blessing in existence, all-encompassing and lasting
Favor upon creation, burgeoning and supreme

29. Door of connection, gaining each desire
Sanctuary of security on the day of desolation

30. When intentions truly become steeds
Hope of mankind when secrets are revealed

31. Refuge of the helpless, ocean of favors
Ocean of generosity, flood of alms

32. Bestowed the mysteries from All-Seeing, All-Hearing
Came as Guide and best Intercessor

33. Unlocked what was obscured for us in blessing
Treasure of the Unseen, inscribed with wonders

34. Of affairs of the Merciful, not human plotting
So he generously gave guidance with firm resolve

35. And destroyed the enemies with valiant Ali
He is the guaranteed path in every matter

36. The key to every hidden door
For all, the proof of dependence

37. Lofty knowledge above every flag
Imam of guidance for every Imam
