1. You, O Ali, are the foremost
Of all people, loftiest in station,

2. Among the Prophet's companions, most manifest
Like the highest, most luminous star.

3. You are the Prophet's Hashimite gate
In whom the best guardianship resides

4. Your knowledge, famed for its perfection,
Utters the soundest, most beautiful words

5. Thus did the Prophet bear witness for you
And said, “You are the justest judge among them."
